I listen to your stories, record them, write them down, edit and organize them with old photos and memorabilia to create a unique personal history. Generally, this is how the process works:
- We meet to discuss the project and collect general biographical information.
- In the comfort of your own home, I will conduct a series of interviews with you and/or members of your family about your (or their) life or specific event to be recorded. I will prepare pertinent, specific questions that trigger memories and start the stories flowing.
- Next, I commit to paper the first draft of your memoir or biography, make necessary edits, give it shape, then submit it for your approval.
- If you wish to include pictures and other memorabilia, I may borrow them to scan and include in the finished project.
- Finally, I will publish your memoir or biography in a unique book that you can leave for generations to come.
Your story can be as simple or as elaborate as you chose. It can be simply transcripts of the conversations, or it can be a hard-cover book, complete with photos, text and artwork.
Confidentiality and Copyright
I am deeply committed to respecting your privacy and I recognize your need for appropriate protection of your personal information. All such information supplied at any time during the interview or the process of writing your biography will be treated confidentially and will not be shared with any third party without your express written consent. Your information will be used solely for the purpose of delivering to you the final project in a professional manner.
All materials produced during the process of writing your life story, including audio and written materials remains your property. I retain the right solely to my personal notes taken at any time during the process.
