I was born in Romania where I spent most of my life under the communist regime, and immigrated to the Unites States in 1995, shortly after the overthrow of the communist party. My own passion for writing was ignited early in life by my rich cultural heritage and family history. Most of my personal and family memoirs recounted and recorded throughout the years focus on life during those years.
Bucks County, Pennsylvania has been my home away from home for many years. My passion for personal histories, merged with my love for the people, places and legacy of Bucks County gave life to the Bucks Biographer. I strive to record and preserve the history of Bucks County by writing the stories and legacy of its individual residents, families, organizations and businesses.
I completed my higher education in the United States where I received my MA degree in Philosophy and Women’s Studies from Yale University, and my BA degree in Philosophy and Creative Writing from Ursinus College.
I have published poetry, memoirs and essays in journals and collections worldwide. In the United States my work appears, among others, in the Bucks County Writers’ Magazine, Water Stone Literary Review, TMP Irregular and Yale University Women’s Literary Magazine. My current work in progress is a book-length memoir collecting and commemorating my Romanian legacy. You can read an excerpt from my upcoming work, “Experiments with Truth.”
